The Digital Acoustics IP7-FX – IP Intercom and Paging Amplifier is a flexible PoE enabled (802.3af) module for use in creating IP Audio solutions.  The IP7-FX is designed to simplify the selection of an IP Audio module by incorporating the most common features used in designs that require from 1 to 25 watts in either half or full duplex environments.  By incorporating these features, the IP7-FX is recommended for new IP Audio designs and can be used as a direct replacement for the IP7-ST/STx, the IP7-SS8/SE8, the IP7-FD or the IP7-SS20.

The IP7-FX design IMPROVEMENTS over its predecessors include the following features:

  • Shortened the internal audio path and removed redundant electronics which improved the audio clarity
  • Included Line Out support (2V peak to peak) for amplifiers driving 25/70V paging systems or powered speakers
  • Included 12VDC output for powering line level microphones
  • Included 3.3VDC (current limited) output for powering an LED
  • Included support for audio output up to 25 watts using 24VDC external power supply
  • Included support for half duplex audio using the speaker as both a speaker and microphone (talkback or single transducer mode)

Deployment Scenarios

The IP7-FX can be utilized in the following modes:

  • Two-way half-duplex audio using a talkback speaker
  • Two-way half-duplex audio using a separate microphone and speaker
  • Two-way full-duplex audio with Acoustic Echo Cancellation (AEC) using a separate microphone and speaker
  • One-way 8 watt audio paging using PoE or external 12VDC supply (ACCPS-W-18-12)
  • One-way 25 watt audio paging using external  24VDC supply (ACCPSMDR-60-24)

Flexible Connections

The IP7-FX supports a variety of analog devices:

  • “Mic Level” or “Line Level” microphones or audio devices that support Line In
  • 8 Ohm Speakers, analog amplifiers or audio devices that support Line Out
  • Momentary contact call buttons
  • Integrated dry contact relay for activating door strikes or access control equipment
  • Integrated input “sensor” for detecting “door open” or other conditions triggered by a contact closure

The IP7-FX includes a secondary network port to connect another IP device to the network.  The Integrated DIN clip attaches to standard 35mm DIN rail for easy mounting.  A surface mount plate is also included.

IP7

The IP7 Firmware Feature enables compatibility with Digital Acoustics TalkMaster FOCUS software and/or to SIP based phone systems.

TalkMaster FOCUS enables multiple console operators to communicate with IP Endpoints through two-way intercom calls and to send one-way messages to predefined paging groups.

The IP7 Firmware also enables connection to a SIP based phone system and to receive calls and if so equipped to initiate a call. SIP Peer-to-Peer mode is also supported.

IP Endpoints can connect to TalkMaster or to a SIP phone system or to both systems concurrently.

TalkMaster Administrator Console can be used to configure all of the the IP Endpoint's connections and options.

S3

The S3 Firmware Feature enables an IP Endpoint to connect to a SIP based Phone System.

S3 Firmware enables the IP Endpoint to be configured through a standard web browser and supports the high fidelity G.722 voice codec. in addition to the standard G.711 uLaw and aLaw voice codecs. IP Endpoint can receive and automatically answer calls. They can also initiate a SIP call if so equipped.

SIP Peer-to-Peer mode is also supported.

S3/InformaCast

The S3/InformaCast Firmware feature enables the IP Endpoint to connect to Singlewire's InformaCast software and to SIP based Phone systems. Please note that InformaCast only supports outbound paging even on products that have two-way capabilities.

With S3/InformaCast firmware, IP Endpoints can be grouped together for multicast paging from Cisco Universal Call Manager (CUCM) or other IP based phone systems.

It also enables the IP Endpoint to optionally connect to a SIP based Phone System with browser based configuration as well as the high fidelity G.722 voice codec in addition to the standard G.711 uLaw and aLaw voice codecs.

SIP Peer-to-Peer mode is also supported.
